Matt McCloskey scored team-highs in kills (14) and blocks (5) as Salem beat rival Pinkerton 3-1 in the Division 1 preliminary round. Kai Esker-Greenhalge added 26 assists for the Blue Devils, who will play Timberlane in the quarterfinals on Tuesday (6 p.m.)

Tate Thompson had 11 kills as Pinkerton shut out Londonderry on Senior Night to finish the regular season at 11-3.

Lucas Lizotte had 33 assists and five aces and Wil Mills had 18 kills and two blocks as Pinkerton volleyball beat WInnacunnet, 3-1.

Lucas Lizotte had 35 assists and nine aces as Pinkerton volleyball got whipped in the first game and then won three straight over Winnacunnet.

A 10-point serving run from Tyler Collins in Game 1 helped propel Pinkerton to a 3-0 volleyball sweep over Dover.

Aiden Hirsch had 19 digs and served three aces to spark Pinkerton volleyball to a sweep of Dover.

After some tough defeats, Timberlane's volleyball team won its first match of the season, sweeping Pinkerton 3-0. Ethan Stewart led the Owls with 13 kills while Trevor Baggett led in both service points and digs. Wil Mills had 20 kills for Pinkerton (2-3).

Lucas Lizotte had 27 assists and an impressive 10 aces, including for the last point of the match, as Pinkerton edged Timberlane in five games.

Salem roared back from a 13-8 Game 5 deficit to beat Pinkerton 20-18 and win the match. Matt McCloskey had a whopping 26 kills for Salem.  The Astros were led by Aldan Hirsch (11 digs) and Lucas Lizotte (41 assists).

Salem spotted Pinkerton the first set and then won three straight to improve to 3-0 as Matt McCloskey and Brandon Hebert proved a formidable one-two punch at the net with 16 and 13 kills.
