Salem falls in heartbreaker

Salem's Brian English tied the game with four minutes left in regulation. But No. 3 Handover scored with just under a minute left to beat the No. 11 Blue Devils 2-1 in the New Hampshire Division 1 quarterfinals.
 
Blue Devils (10-8) goalie Anthony Bellomo made seven saves in a standout effort, while Adam Kurman had an assist on English's goal.

Golden sparks upset

 

Salem senior captain Lucas Moreno picked a great time to score his first goal of the season.

Moved up to the frontline at the end of the game, he knocked in a header with five seconds left in regulation, on a pass from Josh Guthro, to tie the game and the Blue Devils went on to upset Hanover, 2-1, on penalty kicks in the first round of the Division 1 tournament.

Bellomo can't be beat

Salem's Anthony Bellomo had what coach Justin Golden called, "His best game of the season." The goalie made nine saves as the Blue Devils beat Exeter 1-0. Waleaddine Hounane scored the lone goal.
