Knights' Voke, Carroll headed to States

WRENTHAM — North Andover junior Lilly Voke placed seventh and the Scarlet Knights team placed seventh as a team at the Eastern Mass. Division 2 championships.

Voke and teammate Kim Carroll (17th place) advanced to the Division 1 States Saturday at Westfield.

Hillie duo delivers


Haverhill's Jenna Solimine and Jillian Lemieux finished 5-6 in the State Coaches Meet in Wrentham Saturday to lead all local finishers in the Junior-Senior race, running the 5K course in 19:49 and 19:51 respectively. Grace McDowell of Central Catholic was thre top local in the sophomore race, coming in eighth.

Solid Solimine


Jenna Solimine finished first overall by 31 seconds with a personal-best time of 18:45 on Haverhill's 2.9-mile course to pace Haverhill to a narrow 27-29 win over Andover. Junior Abby Stephens had a pivotal fourth-place finish for the Hillies.

Lemieux takes first


Haverhill senior Jillian Lemieux had her best race of the season, placing first in a double dual meet with Lowell and Methuen. Lemieux finished ahead of 2-time defending state champ Kaylee Richards of Lowell.
