Are the Hamilton-Wenham boys primed for another long run through Division 3?

It's all about seeding for the Generals, who have posted a very strong 12-6 record this spring. You could easily make a case for the Generals being the best of the second-tier teams in Division 3. To make a long postseason run, however, H-W will likely have to get some favorable seeding to advance to the semifinals or finals, and it will have to steal a game from one of the big three | Cohasset (12-5), Scituate (10-6) and Dover-Sherborn (12-4).

Pilkanis helps HW drop AP

Senior attackman Charlie Pilkanis scored two goals just 12 seconds apart at the start of the fourth quarter to give the Generals a needed cushion in a 7-5 win over Austin Prep. Ryan Gendreau added a hat trick for H-W (12-6) while Casey Colyer, Ryan Hanna and Jake Cotter also found the back of the twine.

Fishermen fade in fourth, fall to Generals

Generals fall to Triton

The Generals had a slow start and found themselves behind 10-3 and unable to battle back in falling to Triton 17-9. Jake Cotter led the offense with three goals while Marcus Hanna scored twice. H-W (9-6) got single goals from Ryan Hanna, Casey Collier, Steve Dangora and Cory Daff.

Gendreau comfortable scoring goals all over the North Shore

Ryan Gendreau's lacrosse career has been a virtual ping-pong match of stops on the North Shore.

A Danvers resident, Gendreau began playing lacrosse as a third grader in the Peabody Youth Lacrosse League because Danvers didn't have a program at the time. He continued playing at the Glen Urquhart School in Beverly while in junior high, and has been a contributing member of the Hamilton-Wenham varsity team since his freshman year of high school | despite still living in Danvers.

Generals hold off Hanover

Dan Castro stopped 12 shots and made the Generals' 6-1 halftime lead stand up with stellar play in the second half as the Generals topped Hanover 12-7. Hamilton-Wenham (6-3) won its fifth straight thanks to three goals apiece from Casey Colyer and Jay Allsopp. Chipping in a pair of goals were Ryan Gendreau and Jake Cotter as H-W was able to quell a late Hanover rally.

Generals get past Magicians

Three goals courtesy of senior attack Jake Cotter helped the Generals (2-3) bounced back with a 9-5 win over Marblehead. Longpole Corey Daff added a goal and Ryan Gengreau also scored as Hamilton-Wenham led 4-2 at half and gradually increased their advantage after the break. Will Beringer and Jackson Barber had goals for the Magicians.

Hat tricks lift H-W lacrosse team
