Furey, Timberlane roll over Keene

KEENE — The two-hour bus ride to winless Keene most likely was Timberlane's biggest hurdle Friday night. The Owls cleared that and all the others with room to spare, rolling 41-20 over the Blackbirds.

"We felt coming in we'd be able to control the ground game," said Timberlane coach Kevin Fitzgerald. "Our line was really good tonight, and (halfback) Tyler (Furey) is getting healthier every week. He was more explosive tonight than he's been all year."

The junior Furey carried 22 times for 199 yards, scoring three TDs in his best night of the season. Jason Hughes threw a pair of TDs, including one to freshman Jacob Post.

Chris Leondires and Trevor Guilmette each had interceptions to anchore an opportunistic Owls defense.

Things get tougher for the Owls who face unbeaten Pinkerton coming up this week.
