Big night for Cone

Jackie Cone picked right up from last season's volleyball successes, leading Salem to a quality season-opening road victory over a tough Hollis-Brookline team. Cone, who led the Blue Devils in kills last season, racked up 21 last night to go with 11 digs and two blocks. "She was offensively stellar," said head coach Dan Young. "Going to Hollis and getting the win was huge. They're a solid, solid team."

500 digs for McNally

Brenna McNally became the first player in Pinkerton volleyball history to record 500 digs.  The junior outside hitter hit the milestone with a dig that ended game one of the Astros' 3-2 loss (25-23, 29-27, 22-25, 17-25, 15-12) to Hollis-Brookline. McNally now has 514 digs.
