Casey McLaughin poured in 21 points to help Central Catholic girls basketball routed Whittier 67-38. Jennifer Hinds led Whittier with 10 points.

Whittiier Tech's girls zoomed to a 17-2 lead and romped to a 56-36 victory over Greater Lawrence to qualify for the tournament with a 10-1 record. Christina Medley led the way with four 3-pointers and 22 points.

Whittier's girls didn't show any ill effects from a snow-induced layoff, jumping out to a quick start against Greater Lawrence Tech and running away for a 71-41 victory.

Alex Hammel, daughter of Merrimack men's head coach Bert Hammel, scored 16 points and pullled down nine rebounds but Essex-Aggie came out on the short end of a 73-40 decision to Whittier.  The 5-7 senior from Methuen also recorded three steals.

Kaisha Rodriguez (12 points) and Jessica Goulet (7 points and 14 rebounds) were the driving forces in Whittier's commanding 65-25 victory over Lynn Tech. Christina Medaly (8 points) and Jennifer Hinds (10 points) joined Goulet as rebounding powers with 11 boards each. The Wildcat offense was fluid as they had seven players with seven or more points.

The Whittier Wildcats knocked off Division 1 Everett 51-34 by scoring 15 points in the fourth quarter to Everett's 9 points.
