Junior sweeper Jonny Klecan found his transition game at the best possible time, helping Salem win its first round soccer match against Bishop Guertin, 1-0 in overtime.

It was Senior Day and Salem celebrated in style. The Blue Devils started 11 seniors and two others made contributions off the bench including Paul Ramey (goal) and Justin Mosher (assist on his goal). Captain Brandon Cole starred in the back and up front. The win earned them the 8th seed and a home playoff game.

Senior John Lyons posted his second shutout in his past four games to help Salem boys soccer win 2-0 over Bishop Guertin. Lyons made seven saves.

Lyons has allowed just two goals in his past four games. He won the starting job halfway through last year, beating out a then-senior.   

Salem's Justin Mosher, out for soccer for the first time as a senior, scored his first varsity goal as the Blue Devils sneaked past Timberlane 2-1.

John Lyons made six of his 10 saves in the final 10 minutes, including a diving save on a ball near the post and smothering a penalty kick to clinch Salem's 1-0 win over Alvirne. Peter Ventola scored the lone goal, a first-half tally.

Freshman Darren Righini and sophomore Matt Sanchez, both first-year varsity players, scored their first goals as Salem blanked Memorial, 2-0.

Peter Ventola extended his regular-season goal-scoring streak to four games with a hat trick as Salem blitzed Winnacunnet 4-0. The senior striker now has five goals for the 3-0 Blue Devils.

Salem boys soccer coach Tony Karibian converted Joey Morgan from defense to midfield this season. Good choice. Morgan scored his first ever varsity goal in Salem's 2-0 win over Dover. Morgan is in his second year starting on varsity.
