All the hard work against bigger, Division 1 schools is starting to pay off for a young Georgetown squad. Playing with discipline, the Royals responded after losing the lead in the second half, downing Ipswich, 13-12 to climb into first place in Division 2 of the Cape Ann League. Timely goals from Michelle Reilly (four goals) and Emma Cannon (two goals) helped Georgetown grab just enough momentum to prevail. "This is a really good group that's found its way together," Said Royals head coach Heather Hartford.

Kristen Pingree potted eight goals a Georgetown held off hard-charging Pentucket 20-18. Breanna Yocum scored six goals for the Sachems (9-4), who beat the Royals (4-7) 18-9 in their previous meeting this season.

Michelle Reilly pumped in five goals and Jess Rosenthal anchored the defense as Georgetown whipped Manchester Essex 12-6.

Georgetown quieted a strong Masconomet offense in the second half but couldn't overcome an early deficit in an eventual 13-10 setback. Sophomore Jess Rosenthal and junior Sam Francesconi provided strong defensive play during the Royals comeback effort.

Georgetown junior Kristen Pingree scored eight goals, giving her 13 in her first two games as the Royals whipped Beverly 15-10.
