Julia Forgione scored early in the second half and Gina Rosinski (4 saves) made it stand up as Pinkerton knocked off once-beaten Winnacunnet, 1-0, to advance to the Class L field hockey title match.

Five different Pinkerton players scored goals to lift the No. 3 Astros past No. 6 Merrimack 5-1 in Class L quaterfinal action.

"I can't remember the last time we scored five goals in a playoff game," Pinkerton coach Denise Rioux said. 

Pinkerton field hockey beat defending Class L champ Londonderry, 2-1, in their Mack Plaque matchup on a goal by Jordyn Hamilton with 3:08 to play. Shannon Murphy also scored for the winners.

Pinkerton downed Goffstown 1-0. With the win, the Astros improve to 5-2.

Pinkerton senior Shealyn Testa scored on a corner with no time remaining to give coach Denise Rioux her 300th career win, during a 3-2 victory over Merrimack. The final six minutes featured four goals and two lead changes. The second half fireworks came with six minutes left as Merrimack scored to tie the game 1-1, Pinkerton went up 2-1, then Merrimack scored again with 1:40 left to tie the game 2-2. Pinkerton forcied four straight corners with no time remaining when Testa delivered the final goal. Rioux has coached Pinkerton for 26 years, posting a record of 300-77-24.

Jordyn Hamilton's two goals led an all-out offensive assault in Pinkerton field hockey's 6-0 victory over Nashua South. Forward Brittany Gentile and midfielder Nicole Pacheco impressed as part of the Astros' pressure, adding an assist apiece.
