Last-minute score by Revere drops Danvers football

DANVERS | History was just seconds away from taking place at Dr. Charles Deering Stadium yesterday afternoon.

But an improvisational run by Steven Ennamorati ensured that it wouldn't happen.

Ennamorati, the quarterback for Revere High, ran it in from 20 yards out on fourth down with 30 seconds to play, giving his Patriots a 6-0 victory over host Danvers.

Late Danvers rally falls just short against Lynn English

DANVERS | The bottom line was Lynn English's speed | particularly the quick feet of Byron Brown, who ran for 159 yards in 22 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns, the last one a 3-yard run with 37.5 seconds remaining | was the difference as Lynn English held off a spirit Danvers comeback to win, 21-14, last night at Dr. Deering Field.

DANVERS | Here's how you know expectations are plentiful for the Salem High football team this fall.

The Witches went on the road to Deering Stadium in Danvers, got 227 yards rushing and two touchdowns from star junior tailback Melikke Van Alstyne, and were dominant defensively in pitching a 26-0 opening night shutout over the host Falcons before a crowd of better than 2,000 fans.
