Timberlane was the latest Class L victim to find out that, although very young, Londonderry is very good. After handing Concord its first loss Saturday, the Lancers remained in a first place tie with Spaulding by beating the Owls yesterday, 13-3.

On first after a single, Daniele Crutcher took off to steal second, and when the ball was thrown into the outfield skampered in to score the deciding run in the Londonderry's 1-0 victory over Alvirne. Erica Boehm struck out six for the winners.

Starting pitcher Theresa Zwart improved to 4-0 as she led Londonderry past Manchester Central, 3-1. Sophomores Nicole Williams (two-RBI double in the fifth) and Sarah Pierce (inside-the-park home run in the fourth) provided the offense for the Lancers.

Sarah Pierce hit two home runs to lead a potent Londonderry softball attack during a 9-0 win at Keene.  Pierce hit two home runs — a two-run shot and a three-run shot — to pace a 16-hit attack. Emily Kraytenberg went 4 for 4 and pitcher Theresa Zwart went 3 for 3. On the mound, Zwart struck out 12 to earn the win.

LONDONDERRY — After a strong preseason and banging out three hits in Salem's first game, junior surprise Amanda Vaudreuil probably didn't need a psychological ploy yesterday afternoon.

But, prior to taking on a young, but talented Londonderry squad, veteran Salem coach Harold Sachs used one anyway.

Londonderry sophomore Theresa Zwart, in her varsity debut, threw a three-hit shutout, striking out six without walking a batter in a 3-0 victory at Nashua North.
