Raiders back in tourney

Central Catholic is back in the state tournament with plenty of time to spare.

The Raiders, who made the Super Eight two years ago but failed to qualify last year, improved to 9-0-3 after a 4-1 win over Acton-Boxboro. Nick Leonard had a goal and two assists for Central, which had eight players involved in the scoring.

For the second straight game, Connor MacPhee tallied two goals as Central Catholic remained undefeated with a 4-2 win over Westford Academy. Nick Leonard and Cam Fisichelli each added a goal for the winners.

The Central Catholic hockey team displayed its impressive depth in a 5-0 win over Boston Latin. Third-liner Michael Bryant, a junior, scored his first two career goals and linemate Cody Jaskot had three assists. Freshman Kyle Williams, in his first start in the nets, had 10 saves.
