Lancers fall in first round

Tommy Thompson has been a star for the Londonderry hockey team all season, but even his heroics couldn't save the Lancers from falling to Hanover in the first round of the Division 1 tournament, 4-2. Thompson scored a first period goal for the 10th seeded Lancers, and Scott Morrison added another tally late in the second. Tom Cowan made 23 saves, as Londonderry mustered 18 shots on net.

Londonderry 7, Manchester Central 1

Tommy Thompson scored four times and assisted on three others and Ryan Callahan added six assists to help Londonderry conclude its regular season on a positive note, 8-1 over Manchester Central. Michael Allen (two goals), James Parascondola and David Wintle also scored for the Lancers (8-9-1).

Londonderry marksman Tommy Thompson took the puck on a breakaway, but he was robbed on a stellar save by Pinkerton goalie J.J. Solloway with five minutes left to seal a 2-1 victory for the Astros.

Londonderry remained in playoff contention with yesterday's 6-4 win over Exeter. Tommy Thompson had a hat trick and also chipped in an assist. Steve Hanlon had two goals and an assist, and Ryan Callahan dished out three helpers as the Lancers improved to 7-8-1.

Double fun for Astros

Pinkerton, killed off a 5 on 3 power play for nearly two minutes in the third period and then scored twice to beat archrival Londonderry for the second time this year, 5-3. Jason Carace had a goal and two assists for Pinkerton (5-2, 5-1 in Div. 1).

 With 1:49 left in the game, Steve Hanlon took a pass and fired it into the net for the goal that — after an empty net tally — gave Londonderry a 4-2 win over Nashua North. Tommy Thompson assisted on three goals for the Lancers.
