Sophomore Dom Pefine threw a complete-game, three-hit shutout, and freshman Zack Faro led off the seventh with a hit and came around the score the game-winning run with two outs to give North Andover a 1-0 victory over Methuen.

Rangers tough it out

The Methuen baseball team salvaged a tough week, rallying for three in the sixth to nip Dracut, 4-3. The Rangers got a solid mound effort from starter Matt Pappalardo with relief work from Owen Kneeland and Sam Kalivas, who combined on a five-hitter. Mason Lanoue had two of Methuen's six hits.

Central duo dominate

Francisco Melendez allowed just two hits over five innings, striking out eight, and Lukasz Rondeau followed with two perfect innings of relief, to lead Central Catholic to a 2-0 win over Methuen. The Raiders scored both of their runs in the sixth, on an RBI each for Jack Savio and Charlie Antonopoulos. Methuen starter Matt Pappalardo worked five shutout innings, striking out five, but ended up with a no-decision.
