Andover, Hillies' McLaughlin shine at MVC swim meet

Andover scored 437 points to win the MVC Swim Championships with Chelmsford second (359) and the Lowell-North Andover co-op third (239).  Golden Warrior individual winners were Henry Campbell (200 freestyle, 500 free), Matvey Malinovski (200 IM, 100 free) Haverhill's Danny McLaughlin set a meet record in the 100 fly with a time of 51.81. He also won the 100 back.

McLaughlin, Hillies prevail

Dan McLaughlin won the 200 freestyle (1:57.66) and 100 freestyle (48.37) to help Haverhill beat Central Catholic 95-74. Raider Joe Musumarra won the 500 freestyle (5:35.21) and 100 backstroke (1:05.61) and swam on the winning 200 medley relay.

Andover boys swimming edges Haverhill

Andover boys swimming held off a strong push by Haverhill to win 93-85. Matvey Malinovski and Patrick Soong won the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke respectively, and also helped Andover win the 200 medley relay, and Haverhill's Dan McLaughlin led the Hillies by winning the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly and also anchoring the first place 200 freestyle relay, joining Casey Connors, Jake Spreadborough and Sam Mistretta to set a new pool record time of 1:33.78.

Connors keys tight win

Casey Connors and Dan McLaughlin each won two individual events and both the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays to help Haverhill swimming edge out Lowell-North Andover 94-86. North Andover's Andrew Gust broke his own record in the 200 IM and the Knights also won the 400 freestyle relay.
