Astros prevail in OT

 

 After being tied up in regulation, Pinkerton's girls soccer team advanced to the semifinals in the Division 1 Tournament Sunday when Chayse Dube sired a shot in overtie in the upper corner of the net to give the Astros a 2-1 overtime win over Dover. Kayla Silveira scored Pinkerton's first goal on an assist by Emily Hood.The Astros will play in the semifinals Wednesday.

Hood's hat trick sends Pinkerton to quarters

Emily Hood scored a season-high three goals, two on breakaways, leading No. 5 Pinkerton to a 4-2 victory over Merrimack in the Division 1 first round. Hannah Sippel added the other goal for the Astros, who next host No. 13 Dover in the Division 1 quarterfinals on Sunday (2 p.m.)

Freshman Kayla Silveira scored both goals as Pinkerton's girls soccer team stunned Exeter 2-1, ending a 35-game winning streak. Libby Williams made seven saves for the Astros, who improved to 3-1. "A pretty great win for us," said coach Danielle Rappa.
