Parker, Owls prevail again

 

LONDONDERRY — Konrad Parker did it again Saturday at the New Hampshire Division 1 state meet.

And so did, once again, the Timberlane wrestling team.

Last year as a freshman, Parker stunned the No. 1 seed and captured the 106-pound title to help the Owls rally to capture their fourth straight state crown. On Saturday, he pinned the No. 1 seed, Nashua South's Colby Spencer, in the finals for yet another title.

Sterling 13 seconds

 

 

Sterling McLaughlin had a 13-second pin in Pinkerton's 60-18 win over Alvirne. Teammate Xavier Anthony was close behind with a 17-second pin at 152 pounds for the Astros (9-2).

Central 3rd at Concord

 

Mike Glynn had all pins, the final two in the first period, to remain unbeaten on the year to pace Central Catholic to third place at the Capital Classic in Concord. Finishing second for the Raiders were Jimmy Glynn (106) and Matt Shaw (145).

Hammond helps Astros

The pivitol bout between Pinkerton and Windham came at 138 pounds, where David Hammond earned a huge 13-9 decision over his opponent to lift the Astros to a 43-36 match win.

'X' sparks Pinkerton

 
Xavier Anthony (152) picked up his first varsity wins — both pins — and keyed a comeback 42-34 win over Nashua South to highlight a quad-meet sweep for Pinkerton. Marcus Sconza (145) and Sterling McLaughlin were both 3-0 with three pins for the Astros, who improved to 7-2.

Jaguars go 1-2-1

 

With several starters ill or injured, Windham went 1-2-1 at the Springfield Duals. Freshman Aiden Williams continued his fine season, going 4-0 at both 106 and 113. Classmate Ky Cole was 3-1 at 138 and Joel Nyonga had a good day at 195, going 3-1.

Pallaria named OW, Owls finish 2nd in Rhode Island

 

Timberlane junior Nick Pallaria is on top of his game and senior teammate Chris Lund seems to be completely healthy again.

Those were two takeaways Saturday from the John Gorman Invitational in Cumberland, R.I. as the Owls finished second to Simsbury in a talent-laden field. Timberlane had 10 placers and 221.5 points to fall just shy of Simsbury (228).

Salem holds on

 

 Martial Ngatchoua avoided a pin in the final match, dropping a 7-0 decision to Dominic Robinson, and Salem held on for a tight 39-37 victory over Pinkerton. Beau Dillon had a 35-second pin for Salem at 220 and Sterling McLaughlin got a fall in 28 seconds for the Astros at 182.
