The No. 5 seed Greater Lawrence volleyball team lost to stout Cambridge Rindge & Latin, 3-0, in the first round of the Division 1 North tournament. The Reggies end their great season at 16-5 overall, while Cambridge (12-7) will be at Lawrence in the quarters on Monday.

The Greater Lawrence volleyball team fought hard, but it was no match for talented Greater New Bedford, the No. 1 ranked team in the state by the Boston Globe. The Reggies fell 3-0 in the State Vocational final, and now wait to host their North first round game against Cambridge on Friday (7 p.m. start). 

Thanks to a team-high 10 kills and 15 digs from Adoni Jimenez, Greater Lawrence cruised to a 3-0 win over Assabet in the State Vocational semifinl. The Reggies will now play at Greater New Bedford in the final Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.

For the first time in program history, the Greater Lawrence boys volleyball team won the CAC, thanks to a 3-1 victory over Essex tech. Adoni Jimenez had 16 kills and 17 digs, while Pablo Sencion notched 29 assists and four blocks in the win.

The Greater Lawrence volleyball team is in the driver's seat to claim the CAC Large title after a huge 3-1 win over rival Greater Lowell. That's in large part thanks to Adoni Jimenez, who "had a monster game," according to coach Rob Mahoney, with 16 kills, 7 blocks and 21 digs.

It was good primer for the Greater Lawrence volleyball team, led by 7 kills and 9 digs by Rosendo Ortiz in a comfortable 3-0 sweep of Presentation of Mary. The Reggies (12-4) now await their battle with Greater Lowell for the CAC Large title on Wednesday (5:30 p.m. start).

Rosendo Ortiz had 12 kills, 14 service points, 4 aces and 21 digs as Greater Lawrence rallied to win the last two sets to defeat Essex Tech, 3-2. It was the first match all year that didn't go three straight one way or the other for the Reggies (8-2).

The Greater Lawrence boys volleyball program, now in its fourth year, was 0-6 lifetime against Greater Lowell until Friday night. But the Reggies got 11 kills from Rosendo Ortiz to earn the program's first win over Greater Lowell, 3-0, prompting coach Rob Mahoney to say, "We're on a winning streak!"

Greater Lawrence's boys volleyball team is off to its best start. now 3-0 after blanking Malden in straight sets. Adoni Jimenez had eight kills and three blocks to lead the Reggies. Rosendo Ortiz chipped in with 15 service points and nine digs.

Every game took extra points, but the Greater Lawrence boys volleyball team eventually pulled out the season-opening 3-0 sweep over North Andover (27-25, 26-24, 27-25). Adoni Jimenez led the Reggies with 14 kills and 4 blocks, and Pablo Sencion added 20 assists.
