Haverhill's wrestling team remained unbeaten (16-0) with a 39-30 win over Dracut. The Hillies had five pins in the first period, the fastest being in 46 seconds by 120-pounder Dan Wezesa.

Big win for Valentino

 

North Andover standout 126-pounder Joey Valentino hasn't had many tests this year but he got one Saturday and he passed it. In a 48-18 win over Danvers, he wrestled Max Leete, who was third in New England at 113 pounds last year and bumped up a weight to take on Valentino. But Valentino controlled the match and won 3-1 and now stands at 29-0 on the year.

Bouncing back up

Disaster struck when Andover 152-pounder Kelvin Davila was taken down with 13 seconds left in the third period to send his match into overtime. But Davila didn't let it get to his head, and he came back to win his match 9-7 in OT to help the Warriors earn a big 36-29 win over Dracut.

Winning close ones

 

Methuen's wrestling team improved to 9-0 but its 48-19 win over Dracut wasn't as easy as it looks. Justin Sheehan (138), Zabian Cruz (152) both had two-point decisions and Jose Diaz (170) won by three points.

SJP, Alexander go 4-0

 

North Andover's Quinn Alexander was 4-0 at 126 pounds as St. John's Prep improved to 12-1 with four wins in a super-quad. North Andover's Ben Shaw was 3-1 at 170.
