Casey McLaren pitched a complete game, allowing two runs while striking out six, and he also went 2 for 2 with two runs and two RBIs. Tyler Koglin went 3 for 5 with three runs, Ken Hodge went 2 for 3 with two runs and Kyle Therrien went 1 for 3 with three RBIs. Newburyport is now 7-10 and will next face Pentucket in the first round of the Bert Spofford Tournament.

Georgetown baseball snapped its three-game losing streak on Saturday, pouncing on Newburyport with six runs in the first inning to pick up a 7-5 win. Brendan Willis allowed two earned runs over six innings and JP Kibbee went 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Newburyport drops to 1-7 with the loss, but pitcher Parker McLaren hung in to finish the game with only one earned run allowed over six innings. Casey McLaren also went 2 for 4 and leadoff hitter Ryan Archie was 1 for 3 with two runs scored.

Newburyport baseball couldn't touch Masconomet pitcher Andrew Manni, who pitched a no hitter in his first career start to beat the Clippers 1-0 on Friday. Casey McLaren was the tough luck loser after pitching five shutout innings, striking out seven while allowing only two hits and two walks on the day. The Clippers bats remained quiet on Saturday too, when the team was beaten 8-1 by Lynnfield.
