"Neither team finished the season the way we wanted to, but this game showed we really improved since our first meeting," Pentucket coach Ruth Beaton said.

Taylor Purcell scored two huge goals, and Callie Hefferan scored off a break away. Haley Morris made 11 saves, and the Clippers led in corner penalties (12-3) and shots on goal (14-12).

Rockport's Rachel Rowe scored two goals in the first half, and though the contest remained tight for the remainder of the game, the Sachems just couldn't muster a score of their own. Each team had four shots on goal, but Pentucket had the advantage in penalty corners, 10-2. Kelleigh O'Hearn had two saves in the loss.

The senior midfielder had missed the first half of the season with a torn acl that she suffered last winter. Stroman made an instant impact scoring a goal in the Hornets 7-0 win over Pentucket yesterday.
Read More »The Sachems (3-5-1) fell to the Manchester-Essex Hornets (8-1-1) yesterday, 7-0. The Hornets had the advantage in penalty corners, 17-6. "We came out and played very well early on, and we were only down by two at half," said Sachem coach Ruth Beaton. "But we were just out-played by a very talented, quick, and aggressive team. We made some fundamental mistakes, but I think we can learn a lot about ourselves playing against a team that is so crisp in their play and execution."
