It was a mighty task for the No. 9 Salem girls basketball team, but one they were ready to take on.

Facing undefeated, No. 1 Bedford in the Division 1 quarterfinals on Saturday, the Blue Devils pushed the Bulldogs to the final buzzer, but eventually fell 48-45.

Christine Aboujaoude (18 points), Jordyn Franzen (14 points) and Emily Doucette (12 points) each scored in double figures and combined to hit nine 3's as Salem finished its regular season with a win over Alvirne.

Christine Aboujaoude knocked down four 3-pointers on the way to 17 points as Salem beat Winnacunnet 66-54.

Salem's girls battled back gallantly but a 19-0 first quarter hole was too much to overcome in a 63-58 los to Londonderry. Jordyn Franzen scored 18 for Salem, three more than Emily Doucette.

Christine Aboujaoude nailed four 3-pointers and had a game-high 21 points and Emily Doucette added 13 points on four 3's to lift Salem to a 59-41 win over Concord. The Blue Devils drilled 11 treys as a team.

Emily Doucette found her touch from outside, nailing six 3-pointers on her way to a season-high 21 points to lead Salem to a 72-63 win over Exeter. The Blue Devils nailed 12 treys as a team.

Salem's girls outscored Trinity 15-2 in the fourth quarter to secure a 56-40 victory. Christine Aboujaoude led the way with 17 points and Carly Saif added 14.

Pelham's Danielle Sirois continued her fast start to the season on the final day of the Lady Blue Devil Holiday Classic, dropping 22 points in a victory over host Salem. Jordyn Franzen had a team-high 17 for the Blue Devils.

Salem's girls nailed 11 3-pointers and rallied in the second half but fell short of Hollis-Brookline 49-46. Carly Saif and Christine Aboujaoude both had three 3-pointers.
