No. 2 Cabinta beats No. 1

Salem's Tristen Cabinta earned a huge win. Cabinta, the No. 2 ranked wrestler in the state at 160 pounds, took down No. 1 Kyle Gora of Alvirne by a 3-1 decision. His win helped the Blue Devils, who had five other pins on the day, earn a 38-24 meet win and improve to 11-5.

Owls survive battle

 

Short-handed Timberlane won its 147th straight meet in New Hampshire, but it wasn't as easy as usual, holding off scrappy Alvirne 42-25. Missing several starters, freshman Billy Savage had a key pin at 220 and sophomore Chris Lund had a fall at 220. Also, senior Dylan Musgrave won a featured match over all-stater Cam McClure, 6-2 at 145.

North Andover was a little short-handed Saturday and paid for it, losing to Alvirne after crushing Mascoma and Campbell. Ethan Ford (113) and Joey Valentino (126) were both 3-0 with three pins.
