First win in 15 years

After pulling out a scoreless tie earlier this season, the Methuen boys soccer team stunned Andover 1-0 at home. Samir Ould-Sifya scored the lone goal late in the second half, and goalie Kyle Tremblay held Andover scoreless to post the shutout. The win marked Methuen's first win over Andover since Sept. 26, 2002, when the Rangers beat the Warriors 2-0. Methuen had gone 0-14-2 since then coming into tonight.

Streak ends at 32

Methuen snapped a 32-game winless streak (0-29-3) by beating Lawrence, 2-0. Aidan Foley and Rudy Campos scored and Kyle Tremblay stopped all nine shots.

See-saw affair

Trailing 2-0 at the half, Methuen rallied in a big way, taking a 3-2 lead over Lowell on goals by Roydan Cruz (2) and Aimen Elhout. Methuen's first win of the season seemed like a strong possibillity but Lowell tallied twice in the final seven minutes for the 4-3 win.

Central Catholic boys soccer team completed a suspended boys soccer game, defeating Methuen 3-0. Kyle Ouellette had a goal and an assist for the Raiders (7-3).

Rangers tie Andover

Aidan Foley and Brandon Maldonado played terrific games on defense and Kyle Tremblay recorded the shutout as Methuen boys soccer tied Andover 0-0. Though not a win, the result marks a huge step forward for Methuen, which went winless last season and has not beaten an MVC team other than Lawrence since 2014.
