Pinkerton girls soccer got a first half goal from Nicole Alves to beat Alvirne 1-0 in the N.H. Division 1 first round. Enya Vanasse-Lageaux had the assist for the Astros, who will now face top seeded Manchester Central in the quarterfinals on Sunday at noon.

At the non-scoring four-team 2.2 mile Londonderry Jamboree, the Lancers got strong efforts from Kalin Gregorie (3rd, 13:06) and Caitlin Boufford (11th 14:24). Freshman Emma Gannon was the lone top-11 finisher for Salem, placing seventh in 14:14.
