LAWRENCE – Had it all the time, right?

Well, not exactly. But Lawrence High senior Kevin Vanderhorst and the Lancers will take it.

Lawrence made a stop on the final possession to beat St. Mary's 58-57 in the Spartan Classic championship game. Freshmen Christopher Ruiz continued his hot-stretch, totaling 23 points with five 3-pointers. 

Chris Ruiz hit six threes on his way to a 21-point night as Lawrence High knocked off St. Clement, 66-36, to advance to the finals of the St. Mary's Tournament.

Freshmen Christopher Ruiz put in 14-point effort that included two 3-pointers in a 67-63 victory for Lawrence. Jayson Desoto had a team-high 19 points, and Kevin Vanderhorst added 15 of his own.

Lowell locked up sole possession of the MVC large championship with a 73-60 win over Lawrence. Kevin Vanderhorst led the Lancers with 19 points in the loss.

EJ Perry IV went for 26 points with three 3-pointers and Jonathan Rodriguez scored 21 points with four 3s as Andover crushed Lawrence 81-55. Perry had six rebounds and four assists, while the big fella, Max Beati chipped in 10 points and six boards.

Felix Rodriguez went off for 29 points to lead Lawrence past Dracut 70-58. Kevin Vanderhorst chipped in with 24 for the winners.

Keegan Lannon led the Methuen boys to their fifth straight victory by pouring in 6 threes in Friday nights 72-60 win over Lawrence. Lannon finished with 22 points, and teammate David Dizazzo chipped in with 14.  

NORTH ANDOVER — Methuen defeated Lawrence 62-46 in the third-place game of the Commonwealth Motors Christmas Classic. Trailing by one at the half, the Rangers (3-4) outscored the Lancers (2-4) by a 41-26 margin in the second half.
