Pentucket's boys tennis team dropped out of the Division 3 North tournament in the semifinals Monday, falling to powerful Bedford 4-1. Andrew Dickenson and Jack Donahue, at first doubles, were the lone winner for the Sachems (12-5).

In just their second meet as a duo, senior captains Andrew Dickinson and Jack Donahue won No. 1 doubles 6-0, 6-2 as No. 6 Pentucket downed No. 3 St. Mary's of Lynn 3-2 in the Division 3 North quarterfinals.

In the final match of the day, Pentucket's Lucas Chory battled North Andover's Eric Hall to earn a 6-4, 6-4 victory that gave the Sachems a 3-2 victory over the Scarlet Knights.

Ben Brackbill and Max Jackson fought off three match points in the third set and won a wild 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) match at second doubles to give Pentucket a 3-2 win over fellow CAL power Masconomet. That clinched Pentucket's second straight CAL Kinney Division title. Another highlight was Connor Aulson winning 6-2, 6-0 at first singles over Alex Fizz, who beat him two weeks ago.

With the match resting on his shoulders, Lucas Chory overcame a first set loss and deficits in the second and third set to take No. 3 singles 2-6, 6-4, 7-5 and clinch Pentucket's 3-2 victory over Hamilton-Wenham.

Jack Donahue won a 2.5-hour thriller 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 at second singles and Pentucket swept Triton 5-0. "That was a lot of mental as well as physical toughness," said coach Christian Langlois.

Pentucket's new courts got a successful start as the boys team opened the season with a 4-1 win over Ipswich. Sophomor Connor Aulson picked up where he left off at first singles with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.
