Londonderry finds friendly road in playoff-opening win

MANCHESTER – Forced to the road in defense if its title, the Londonderry High baseball team once again looks quite at home in these Division 1 playoffs.

Last night, the reigning champ Lancers, seeded ninth, took out No. 8 Manchester Memorial here at Gill Stadium, 13-2.

Freshman Cedric Gillette fired a four-hitter and Andover whipped defending Division 1 state champ Londonderry 10-1. E.J. Perry IV drove in three runs and Gabe Hernandez was 4 for 4 for AHS.

Lancers explode

The top of Londonderry lineup erupted yesterday as the first five hitters combined to go 10 for 19 with 12 runs and 17 RBI in a 24-0 win over Nashua South. Mike Ryan had the biggest day with four hits, four runs and seven RBI in five at bats. Nick Musto allowed one hit and one walk with six strikeouts in five-inning complete game.
