The Beverly High boys lacrosse team is a long way from its main goal of winning a state title, but at least the Panthers are going to the postseason.
Joe Reinold scored the game-winning goal with four minutes left and goalie Kevin Ranta made a spectacular save in the final seconds to preserve a 10-9 win over Marblehead yesterday. The Panthers improved to 9-7 and earned a berth in the state tourney with two regular season games remaining.

Billy Daly provided the offense for Peabody (11-4) with four goals while Derek West, Mike Martin and Mike Pennachio each added a goal and an assist.
