MANCHESTER, N.H. — As the opportunities mounted, it seemed only a matter of time until Pinkerton would lock down its berth in the state title game.

There was the Astros goal that was waved off by the referees after the net came dislodged. There was the shot that beat the goalie, but rang loudly off the post, and the puck that was slammed into the goal, but the refs ruled the goalie had covered up the puck.

Ethan Landry potted the game-winner at the 4:21 mark of overtime to lead second-seeded Pinkerton 2-1 over seventh-seeded Exeter in the Division 1 quarterfinals.  

Pinkerton hockey gathered steam for the state tournament, ending the regular season with an 8-1 thrashing of Newton South. Seven different players scored for the Astros (16-2-2) with Tim Cronin finding the net twice. Gio Corsetto had three assists.

Pinkerton clipped Londonderry in hockey 6-2 as six different players scored goals and four others had assists. Colin Philippon and Steve Leonard both had an assist for the Astros.

Gio Corsetto scored two goals as Pinkerton rolled over Trinity 5-1. The Astros have won eight of their last nine.

Jordan Puzzo made 24 saves for his first career varsity shutout as Pinkerton downed Manchester Memorial 3-0.

Gio Corsetto scored one goal and assisted on three others as Pinkerton dealt Bedford just its second loss of the season, 5-1. Tim Cronin added a goal and two assists for the Astros, who avenged an early-season loss by the same score (5-1) to the Bulldogs, who were unbeaten before losing to Salem on Saturday.

Salem overcame four separate deficits to send the game to overtime, and Cody Soucy completed the performance with an overtime goal as the Blue Devils downed Pinkerton 6-5. Soucy and linemate Kyle Svenson each scored two goals.

John Hamilton had both goals and Tyler Poole and Ryan Monte both assisted on each one as Pinkerton edged Alvirne 2-1.

Gio Corsetto had the hat trick and John Hamilton picked up three assists as Pinkerton dumped Bishop Guertin 5-2. Sophomore Colin Philippon scored his first varsity goal.
