Kelly Daigle netted eight goals to lead Central Catholic 15-5 over Methuen in the first round of the girls lacrosse Division 1 North tournament. 

Central advanced to play  top-seeded North Andover tomorrow at 7 p.m. at North Andover High.

Kristi's Milestone

Methuen girls lacrosse won its second high-scoring shootout with Tewksbury this season, this time winning 29-19 after winning 21-17 earlier in the season. In the process, Methuen's Kristi Coutu reached 100 career points after talling seven goals and an assist during the game. Aryanna Poirier led all scorers with 12 goals.

Not only did Aryanna Poirier reach a milestone by scoring the 99th, 100th, 101st, 102nd and 103rd goals of her career, but Methuen girls lacrosse also qualified for the state tournament with a 19-9 win over Dracut.

Rangers' Horgan joins 100-goal club

Ashley Horan and Methuen worked overtime in girls lacrosse, gritting out a 14-13 season-opening win over Lowell.
For Horan, it was a milestone night with seven goals, raising her career total to 102. Aryanna Poirier netted four more goals for the Rangers.
