Phillips Exeter freshman A.J. Pedro of Methuen was the top local placer at the Prep nationals at Lehigh University yesterday. He placed third at 152 pounds, winning 7-5 in the consolation finals. His only loss in the tournament was to Blair Academy's Mason Manville in the semifinals. Manville later became the 152-pound champion.

Phillips Academy captured the Northern Invitational for the sixth straight year, easily outpacing runner-up Lawrence Academy in the 16-team field. Phillips had nine wrestlers in the the finals and came out on top ifour times. Christian Vallis, at 132, was a champ for the fourth straight year.

Phillips Academy's wrestling team dropped a 52-23 decision to Tabor Academy but senior Christian Vallis had a big win, defeating John Anderson, the New England prep No. 1-ranked 132-pounder, 5-1, to remain undefeated.
