Makayla Hardy had 10 assists and Heidi Arsenault notched 16 service points and 13 digs as Whittier wrapped up its regular season with a 3-0 win over Mt. Alvernia.

Whittier Tech, only 3-17 a year ago, locked down the Commonwealth Conference small school title by knocking off Fellowship Christian Academy in three straight games. Chantel Riendeau dominated the net for the winners with 11 kills.

Whittier volleyball — which won just three matches last fall — earned its 10th win yesterday and qualified for the state tournament for the first time in three years. 

Amanda Pelletier's solid defense (35 digs) led Whittier over PMA in a match that game came down to a 16-14 fifth game. Chantel Riendeau had 16 kills and one block.

Led by 14 kills and five blocks from sophomore Chantel Riendeau, the Whittier volleyball team knocked off Shawsheen 3-1. Makayla Hardy had a strong game for the Wildcats with seven assists and 15 service points.
