DERRY — On a memorable Senior Night for the Pinkerton wrestling team, it was a sophomore who led the way.

Jean-Luc Lemieux, who has had his ups and downs since moving up three weight classes to 126, was in peak form yesterday as he pinned Salem senior star Jon Rheaume, who won his weight class at the rugged Methuen Tournament, in the second period to spark Pinkerton to a 48-18 victory.

Salem's wrestling team edged Exeter 38-37 in a thriller thanks partly to a stunning eight-second pin by senior heavyweight Dom Gigante, who is back in the sport after taking two years off. The Blue Devils also had pins of 18 seconds by Jon Rheaume and 38 seconds by Tyler Siverhus.
