HAVERHILL – Youthful talent can be a beautiful asset to have. But when things get a little crazy, a veteran leader is an even nicer commodity.

Kristin Hogan had a season-high seven 3-pointers and 27 points to pace Georgetown past Matignon 55-33 in the opening round of the Division 4 tournament.

Marisa Agganis erupted for 29 points with six 3-pointers as Georgetown whipped Amesbury 62-34.

Marisa Agganis drove to the hoop for the win with time expiring but did not convert her shot and a foul was not called as  Georgetown girls basketball lost 46-45 to Newburyport.

Senior Marisa Agganis netted a career-high 26 points but Georgetown girls basketball lost 53-48 to Hamilton-Wenham. 

The Royals were leading entering the fourth, but then were outscorwed 11-0. 

A fourth-quarter surge triggered by Marisa Agganis (game-high 15 points and 10 rebounds) and Olivia Monroe (6 points and 15 boards) got Georgetown close to an upset, but Masconomet just held off the Royals in a 44-39 victory.

Kristin Hogan scored her 1,000th point as the Georgetown girls clipped Lynnfield 47-33.

Marisa Agganis not only netted 27 points but she also added 13 steals as Georgetown girls basketball won 68-23 over Rockport.
