No-riss leads Andover

Andover's Colin Norris tossed a no-hitter in a 3-2 win over Billerica.

"He pitched well," said head coach Dan Grams. "They scored two runs on a walk and then an error — we blew a double-play ball. No one should have scored for him, but that's been our achillies heel all year, a walk and an error. But Colin pitched very well, he pitched great."

Billerica 3, Haverhill 0

As is usually the case with a struggling team, mistakes magnify and can make all the difference. In the case of Haverhill baseball, two defensive errors broke open a tight game against Billerica, ending with a 3-0 decision. Manny Vargas was the tough-luck loser on the mound for the Hillies as he gave up just six hits and one earned run over six innings.

Raiders coming together

Even with just five outdoor days under its belts, Central Catholic is coming together as shown by its 10-3 win over Billerica. Alex Valenti went the route on the hill, fanning nine, four on called third strikes. Connor Perry two-run single was part of a streak of four straight hits that delivered five second-inning runs.
