Exeter's Hillary Holmes scored 4,358 points to win the New Hampshire Heptathlon. She was followed by Londonderry's Katie Schwarz (4,053) and Megan Schwarz (3,956).

MERRIMACK — Having already won New Hampshire’s Meet of Champions high jump title, clearing 6-foot-4, Matt Dionne appeared a little addled on what to do next.

“I don’t even know,” Dionne replied when asked what height he wanted to try next.

MERRIMACK — Melissa Higgins needed some help coordinating her day, but the Salem senior ended up doing all the hard work herself.

Running from one event to another, Higgins defended her New Hampshire Division 1 300-meter hurdle title and also placed in three other events yesterday afternoon at Merrimack High School. Her 22-point effort helped Salem finish fifth with 45 points, far behind girls winner Bishop Guertin’s 94. Londonderry was third with 62 and Pinkerton was fourth with 58.

Melissa Higgins was a force in Salem's 79-53 track victory over Pinkerton, winning the long jump, triple jump and both hurdles.

Pinkerton's Katy Ebner celebrated her birthday with a school record in the javelin (108-2), a big personal best in the discus (96-6). She also won the shot put as Pinkerton beat Alvirne 89-55.

Pinkerton's Danielle Cole finished first in the 300 hurldes with a time of 50.84 and teammate Katy Ebner earned first place in the Javelin with a toss of 10-6, both helping the Astros to a first place finish at the Nashua North Invitational.

Abbey Smith ran a personal-best 15.9 in the 100 hurdles, won the 100 dash and placed second in the 200 as Pinkerton beat up on Manchester Central, 86-58. Freshman Maggie Barrie won the 200 with a personal best time of 27.1 and was a member of both winning relay teams.
