Duo keys Andover

 

John Belanger and David Hunter paced Andover's boys swimmers to third place in the Merrimack Valley Conference meet. Belanger was first in the 100 freestyle and second in the 50 freestyle while Hunter was the 100 backstroke winner and was second in the 50 freestyle.

Golden Abe

Abe Iyengar won the 100 freestyle (24.09) and 100 breaststroke (1:08.58) and swam on the winning 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay as Andover downed Haverhill 99-84. Nick Roy scored a win in the 100 butterfly for the Hillies.

Hillies pool their talents

Haverhill's swim team put a lot of swimmers into the top three against Belmont, making for an easy 98-73 victory. The 200 freestyle relay team of Connor Cronin, Luke DeFusco, Nick Roy and Phil Donnelly punched its ticket into the sectionals with a time of 1:53.43, and Hanul Moon qualified for states in diving.

Haverhill's 200 freestyle relay team of Luke DeFusco, Anthony Spinelli, Max Koffman and Phil Donnelly earned a sectional qualifying time of 1:40.73, but Haverhill swimming lost 88-82 to Chelmsford.

Haverhill's Max Koffman, Nick Roy, Connor Cronin and Phil Donnelly teamed to win the 400 freestyle relay in a speedy 3:47.92 to highlight the Hillies 92-76 win over Central Catholic.David Kitchen and Dan Lefebvre combined to win three individual events and a relay for the Raiders.
