Damola Abu, Marblehead: Took a pounding inside but always bounced back

Chris Barry, Newburyport: The 6-foot-4 football and basketball captain was the top River Rival center, averaging 10.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.

Steve Boudreau, North Andover: Top scorer for Cape Ann League champion Knights at 15.2 points a game. Savage defender, gamer. Also quarterback on the football team.

Joe Clancy, Newburyport: Was both the second-leading scorer and assist man in the River Rival Region at 12.5 points and 3.5 assists per game.

Clay Cleveland, Masconomet: Provided a strong presence on the boards

Mike Clifford, Bishop Fenwick: Salem News Player of the Year is a dominating force inside

Carson Desrosiers, Central Catholic: Sophomore 6-foot-9 big man matured into a superstar. Averaged 11.0 points a night on the year. Averaged a triple-double over the six state tourney games: 10.5 points, 10 rebounds and 11.5 blocks agame.

Romeo Diaz, Methuen: Second in the region in scoring at 21.9 points a game. Had an amazing 51-point game. All-conference two years.

Phil Eagan, Bishop Fenwick: Penetrates and attacks the basket

Andrew Gianakakis, Ipswich: Smallish center who got the most from his ability

Adrian Gonzalez, Central Catholic: The Merrimack Valley Conference co-mvp. Scored 16.9 points a game. Ended career with one of the great performances of our time with 28 points and 12 rebounds against St. John's of Shrewsbury. Headed to Bentley on scholarship.

Josh Jones, Salem, NH: Led Salem to second straight state title. Junior averaged 16,0 points a game and 5.5 rebounds.Has 951 career points.

Peter Karas, Ipswich: A big weapon from outside

Andrew Knight, St. John's Prep: Happy to take on the toughest defensive assignment

Scott Leffler, Swampscott: Developed inside scoring as season progressed

Ryan Mahan, No. Shore Tech: Can play all five positions

Derek Pratt, Pingree: Eastern Independent League All-Star

Antonio Reyes, Salem, MA: Versatility a key to his game as a freshman

Matt Tobin, Beverly: Has a knack for scoring and rebounding in heavy traffic underneath

Allen Williamson, Pingree: Great scorer who expanded his game as a junior



Guards

John Beaulieu, Swampscott: Sets the tempo for Big Blue offense

Mike Carter-Williams, Hamilton-Wenham: Freshman scoring sensation

Mike Clayton, Beverly: Vastly-improved point guard has two years left

Nolan DiPanfilo, Bishop Fenwick: Streaky shooter who can really fill it up

Brendon Felder, St. John's Prep: Sophomore was the fastest guard on the North Shore

Justin Hojlo, Pelham, NH: Dynamite scorer, has already surpassed the 1,000-point plateau with a year to go. Averaged 20.7 points a night for the 19-4 Pythons.

Mike Kimball, Salem, NH: Junior scored 15 points a game and drilled 30 3-points. Netted 23 points in state semis and 17 in the title game. Both Salem wins.

Nate Knudson, Beverly: Brings energy every night

Junior Lugo, Salem, MA: Consistency and leadership became his trademark as a senior

Billy Marsden, Central Catholic: Gritty guard hit all the big shots in the Central tourney run. Torched Charlestown for 30, Lowell for 23 and BC High for 22. Averaged team-high 19.0 points a game for the state champs.

Chris Maxson, Salem, MA: Unselfish guard who does a little of everything

Bill Medvitz, Amesbury: A three-year starter, led the Indians in scoring at 10.1 points per game, good enough for seventh in the River Rival area.

Marty Nally, Manchester Essex: Nally led the Hornets in scoring at 17.5 points per game and ended his career with 41 points on Senior Night. He was a Cape Ann League All-Star.

Justin Nieves, Lawrence: Averaged 18 points a game while playing a dynamic point guard. Had a 38-point game and a 40-point game.

Ryan O'Connell, St. John's Prep: Can shoot from outside with the best of them

Carlos O'Donnell, Pingree: Always a 3-point threat

James Rodrigues, Hamilton-Wenham: Superb 1-on-1 defender

James Settipane, Manchester Essex: Settipane averaged 11.8 points per game for the Hornets and was a Cape Ann League All-Star.

Pat Song, Marblehead: Steady point guard for the last three years

Jaymie Spears, Georgetown: Only a freshman but he averaged 18.7 points a game with four assists and four steals.

Chris Splinter, Masconomet: Came on strong as a scorer the second half of the season.

Kevin Van Lenten, Masconomet: One of the most well-rounded players in the area
