Pentucket lost four three-set matches. Ryan Swanson (7-6, 3-6, 6-7), Taylor Beaton (4-6, 6-4, 2-6), and Ryan Clancey (0-6, 6-4, 6-7) lost their singles matches. B.G. Smith and Nick Giannino (4-6, 4-6) lost at first doubles. Nate Eames and Cam Roberts (6-3, 4-6, 3-6) lost their second doubles match.

Nick Filipancic won his singles match against Ryan Swansey in three sets. Nick Ross and Matt Mogren also won singles matches.

Off to its best start in at least two dozen years, Haverhill's boys tennis team stayed unbeaten with a 5-0 blanking of Greater Lowell. Facing the iron of everyone's roster prepared Ramie Jacobson well at first singles as he took a three-set marathon for the 6-0 Hillies. According to several Hillie sources, this could be Haverhill's best start since an unbeaten, championship run through the Greater Boston League in 1976.

Second doubles were a big part of Central Catholic's 5-0 victory over Lawrence. Junior Aiden Cusack and freshman Mark Letayf rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 triumph to pick up their first career varsity victories for the Raiders (3-2).

 Pentucket edged out Amesbury in a tight battle that came down to second doubles in which the Sachem tandem of B.G. Smith and Nick Giannino (6-7, 6-3, 6-4) won to clinch the match. Other winners for Pentucket include No. 1 singles Ryan Swanson (6-1, 6-2) and No. 3 singles Taylor Beaton (6-4, 6-2). Winners for Amesbury included No. 2 singles James Cummings (7-6, 6-1) and the first singles team of Matt Incontri and Ben Uhlrik (6-0, 6-3). 

Ryan Fyfe was a double-winner (8-1 in second singles, 8-1 along with Brad Shapiro in first doubles) as Pelham trounced Milford, 9-0. The Pythons remain perfect at 4-0.

Freshmen Joe Perrone and Andrew Nguyen each notched their first varsity win as Methuen took its first victory of the season, 5-0 over Lowell Catholic

Ryan Swanson posted a victory at first singles (6-0, 6-0) for Pentucket (2-3). Ryan Clancey posted a victory (6-3, 6-0) at second doubles. In first singles action, Taylor Beaton and B.G. Smith posted a win (6-3, 6-1) for Pentucket. Nate Tames and Nick Giannino also posted a victory (6-2, 6-0) at second doubles.

Amesbury's doubles were the difference yesterday, as Ben Lloyd and Adrian Bazenas defeated Nate Ames and Ryan Clancy (6-2, 3-6, 6-4), and Matt Incontri and Ben Uhlarik beat Taylor Beaton and BG Smith (6-2, 6-1). Indian singles player James Cummings rallied to beat Sachem Pat Baga (1-6, 6-3, 6-0).

Amesbury has not been able to quite get over the hump in each of its last three matches losing each contest by a score of 3-2.  Matt Incontri and Ben Uhlarik won at first doubles, 7-5, 6-0. Ben Lloyd and Adrian Bazenas won at second doubles, 6-0,6-0.

After a rough start, Ryan Swanson (6-7, 6-1, 6-3) started moving his feet in the second and third sets and crushed his opponent at No. 1 singles for Pentucket's only win of the day. Coach Christian Langlois said his team fought hard, but were over-matched against a more experienced team.

No. 1 singles player Eli Egan-Anderson (6-4, 6-1) and No. 2 singles player James Cummings (6-2, 6-4) each picked up wins for Amesbury, but the Indians could not get any more support and fell for the second straight match, 3-2.
