After a rough start, Ryan Swanson (6-7, 6-1, 6-3) started moving his feet in the second and third sets and crushed his opponent at No. 1 singles for Pentucket's only win of the day. Coach Christian Langlois said his team fought hard, but were over-matched against a more experienced team.

No. 1 singles player Eli Egan-Anderson (6-4, 6-1) and No. 2 singles player James Cummings (6-2, 6-4) each picked up wins for Amesbury, but the Indians could not get any more support and fell for the second straight match, 3-2.

Ryan Keenan and Charlie Knowlton won their first doubles match (3-6, 7-6, 7-5) for Newburyport. Tony Dube and Hunter Seabrook won at second doubles (6-4, 6-3).

The North Andover boys and girls tennis teams both registered 4-1 victories over Pentucket. Peter O'Neill won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, and Rachel Muller won 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 in first doubles for the girls. The Knights were a perfect 4-0 in doubles play. Pentucket's Ryan Swanson won 4-6, 6-4, 3-1 in first singles when Alan Nguyen was forced to retire due to injury.
