Central Catholic's Lauren Berg was named Field Events Athlete of the Meet at the Nashua North Invitational thanks to her first-place, meet-record-breaking javelin throw of 122-4 and her second-place shot put distance of 36-4 3/4. Katie Lafrance, who clocked in at 15.85 in the 100 hurdles, finished third.

Lindsey Patterson, Katherine Grzejka and Kristen Swanson each earned three victories as Timberlane bested Manchester West 84-47. Patterson took the pole vault, 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, Grzejka won the long jump, triple jump and 200 and Swanson placed first in the high jump, 400 and as part of the 4x400 relay.

Triton's Deanna Latham won four events — breaking school records in two events (long jump, triple). She also finished first in the 100 (12.4) and 200 (27.0). Rachelle Bourque also set a school record (shot put, 35-6). Ashley Pinette (discus, 100-5), Ashley Matthews (pole vault, 8-0) and Vanessa Short (110-hurdles, 18.6) also placed first for the Vikings (5-0).

Lynsay Wray pulled off an impressive double, winning the mile and the 800 during North Andover girls track's loss to Triton. The races were only about 10 minutes apart.

Since Cindy Surrett set the Andover High outdoor track record in the high jump in 1984, the mark has only been matched twice — both by Jessica Salley in the last two weeks.

Whittier's Lisa Leak has no time to specialize.  The Wildcat won the shot put (25-1) and discus (54-3) and ran on the winning 4x100 relay team to help her squad down Greater Lawrence 63-53. 

Timberlane's Katherine Grzejka won the triple jump (34-2 1/2), the long jump (15-7) and the javelin (85-10) to power the Owls to a convincing win over Spaulding.

Triton's Rachelle Bourque qualified for the National Scholastic Championships for the third consecutive season with a throw of 124-9 in the javelin. She also won the shot put (34-5).

Even with standout Lauren Berg sidelined due to a bizarre science class accident, Central Catholic's 26-point roll through the field events led to a 90-55 win over Haverhill.

Pentucket girls track fell to Masco, 84 1/3-60 2/3, but the Sachems were able to salvage a split with an 86-56 victory over Wilmington. Sarah Pearsall (shot put and discus), Andi Attenasio (high jump and 4x400 relay), Alanna Poretta (mile and 4x400) and April O'Brien (800 and 4x400) all registered a pair of first-place finishes.

The Amesbury girls were unable to score a win in a tough duel meet against North Andover (119-26) and Ipswich (89.5-53.5) yesterday. Danielle Sylvester (2 mile; 13:33), Alyssa Harrison (high jump; 5'0"), Rebecca Crochiere (800 - 2:32; 400 hurdles - 69.5) and Kristin Kozacka (discus; 69' 9.5") all competed well and earned first place finishes.

The Pentucket Sachems beat the Wilmington Wildcats yesterday, 86-56. Sarah Pearsall (shot put and discus - 72'4"), Andi Attenasio (high jump), Lexi Kitsakos (triple jump), Charlotte Koolian (javelin), Victoria Castiglione (pole vault), Becca Schmidt (100), Alanna Poretta (mile), April O'Brien (800), and the 4X400 (4:31.7) team of Julia Quattrini, Attenasio, O'Brien, and Poretta all placed first.

Lexi Kitsakos (long jump; 13'8"), Sarah Pearsall (discus; 72'4"), Charlotte Koolian (javelin; 87'4"), Emily Funk (high hurdles; 17.2), Becca Schmidt (100; 14.2), Alanna Poretta (mile; 5:36.8), Andi Attenasio (400; 65.6), April O'Brien (800; 2:33.8) and the 4X100 (56.4) team of Liz Beauregard, Victoria Castiglione, Schmidt, and Kitsakos all earned first place finishes.
