Santa Joseph won the triple jump (29-4.5) and 400 (1:14.82) and Jaheidy Ortiz took the 100 hurdles (19.29) and 400 hurdles (1:23.83) as Greater Lawrence earned its first win over Shawsheen in 15 years, 85-50.

Shelby Nassar won the 100 dash (13.71) and Megan Rozzi took the 200 (28.62) to lead North Andover to a 128-13 win over Methuen. Miana Caraballo earned the Rangers' lone win, taking the 2-mile (11:26.82).

Janessa Duren won the 100 hurdles (15.2) and 400 hurdles (70.9) to lead Central Catholic to a 94-51 win over Lowell.

Junior captain Briana Danis tied her own school record with a 127-5 in the discus and Pinkerton rolled past Bishop Guertin. Danis also won the shot put (33-9.5) while Jordan Wheaton had personal bests in winning the high jump and 300 hurdles (5-0/48.72).

The weather may have been cold and miserable, but for the North Andover boys and girls track teams, Sunday were nothing short of perfection, hosting the MSTCA Division 2 Relays.

WESTFIELD — Through all of his track records and accomplishments, Andover star Christopher McConnell had never earned outdoor All-State track gold.

WESTFIELD — There were plenty of fine performances at the Mass. All-State Track Championships.

You can debate almost anything in sports. But don’t dare claim that any other community in Massachusetts produces high hurdlers like Lawrence does.

 NORTH ANDOVER — It was a hectic 15 minutes for Dominic Tritto, who was nursing a sore hamstring and competing in two events at the Division 1 North track meet at the same time Saturday morning.

One of three competitors left in the high jump, the Central Catholic senior was called to the long jump area 30 yards away for his first attempt in his flight. Three minutes after that leap left him in sixth, Tritto was preparing a try at his personal best with a 6-4 high-jump attempt.

ANDOVER —  It took nine years for the North Andover boys to win their first MVC Open Championship in spring track.

Pentucket's Emily Rubio won the 400 hursles and the high jump ans was second in the long jump to pace her team to second place in the CAL Open. Kinneal Dickens jumped a school record 35-3 1/2 for first in the triple jump. Reese Gallant won the 100 and was on the winning 4x100 and Sabrina Campbell on the 400, was on the winning 4x100 and was second in the high jump.

North Andover girls track beat Methuen to improve to 5-0. Among the Knight highlights were Jane Freund's 9-0 pole vault and Ainsley Chittick 89-0 javelin. Methuen's Brianna Aigbogum in taking the 200.  

Central Catholic blizted Lowell. Hurdles whiz Katharine Duren continues to dominate the long jump (18-5) while the Raiders featured double winners Adrianna Niles, Cailyn Scharneck, Kate Ciesieski and Veralie Perrier.
