Jarad Smith was cited as Wrestler of the Meet for a 1-0 decision over Cody Byrd at 152, Nick Scali impressed with a pin at 160 and freshmen Matt Morris (119) and Nick Lawrence (130) continued to look good, both recording 17-1 technical falls. Matt Tardif had a solid 6-0 decision at 215.

Greater Lawrence (5-0) continued to roll, blasting Xaverian 48-19. Freshman Matthew Buco (103) remained unbeaten and had one of seven pins for the Reggies, who have now won 30 straight matches. He, Angel Rivera (189) and Victor Sosa (215) all had first-period pins. Steven Nickerson captured a nice 7-4 decision at 125.

SALEM | Pinkerton sophomore Ian Beck has probably never felt less upset after a loss then he did last night.

A New England qualifier at 140 pounds last year, Beck fell to Salem senior Corbin Decker at 160 pounds for the second time in two weeks, this time by a 4-1 decision. Disappointing, yes, but Beck couldn't help but look at how the rest of the team fared, and that was outstanding.

Greater Lawrence didn't have any choice so it showed its depth yesterday while capturing the Wakefield Tournament.
