Thompson's two tallies leads Londonderry

Tommy Thompson scored twice, and Scott Morrison struck on the power play with less than a minute to go in overtime as Londonderry edged Nashua South 3-2. Joel Willbrant was stellar as well, making 26 saves and stopping two breakaway attempts. The win improved the Lancers to 5-6-2, 3-5-2 in Division 1.

Fox trots Owls to seventh-straight win

SALEM, N.H. | The only thing hotter than the Timberlane Owls right now might be their sophomore center, Zach Fox.

Coming off a four-point game against Bow on Monday, Fox netted two goals just two minutes apart in the third period to lift the Owls to a 3-0 win over Alvirne, their seventh win in a row. Fox now has nine goals on the year.

John Hyslip had a goal and an assist, reaching 100 points for his career and leading Andover to a 4-0 victory over Wakefield. Paul Russell added two goals and Nick Drew made 15 saves for the winners.

Newburyport unbeaten in last four after victory over Pentucket

Newburyport coach Paul Yameen knows better than to underestimate an opponent, and as last night's final buzzer sounded, it was evident that he has taught his team well.

The Clippers (5-3-1) outscored rival Pentucket 8-3 at the Veterans Memorial Rink in Haverhill last night, pouncing on early and never relinquishing their lead. The Clippers are 3-0-1 in their last four.

Andover's Flanagan feeling right at home

Andover's George Flanagan had no trouble remembering his favorite all-time holiday.

"One year the skating rink in our back yard was finally ready on Christmas Day," he said. "We had Christmas dinner at our house and we just skated all day. I don't think we ever even came in the house the whole day."
