Riley O’Hearn and Courtnee Pickles each scored a goal and assisted on another as Methuen downed Dracut 2-0. Sam Pfeil had five saves for the shutout.

Arianna Schwinn-Clanton's second goal of the game was a highlight-reel score, helping Andover beat Tewksbury 5-1 in its season-opener. Vi-Quan Bach also scored twice for the winners.

Madison Gosse erupted for five goals, and Kamryn Eaton had a goal and an assist as Whittier opened the season by rolling past Greater Lawrence 5-1.

Brooke Tardugno scored one goal, added two assists and even made a save in goal to lead Methuen to a season-opening 6-0 win over Lawrence. Hailey Smart added a goal and an assist for the winners.

Pinkerton trailed 1-0 at the half but was undeterred, spilling Concord, 2-1, in double overtime.

With one minute left in the second extra session, Emily Hood sent in a corner kick that Kayla Silveira knocked in to decide it. Hood also netted the first Astros goal to force the overtimes. 

Behind two scores from Emily Hood and Isabel Rolfe's first varsity goal, Pinkerton rallied back from a two-goal deficit to beat Alvirne 3-2 in the Astros' season-opener.

Methuen's girls scored on goals by Courtnee Pickles and Kiera Fitzpatrick in the first half and then relied on its defense to defeat Beverly 2-1 in a Div. 1 preliminary round game.   

Zarina Pinto scored in the first 22 seconds of the game to propel Central Catholic to a 2-0 tournament victory over Lynn Classical. The Raiders advance to Saturday's first round game at 6 p.m. against Newton South.

 After being tied up in regulation, Pinkerton's girls soccer team advanced to the semifinals in the Division 1 Tournament Sunday when Chayse Dube sired a shot in overtie in the upper corner of the net to give the Astros a 2-1 overtime win over Dover. Kayla Silveira scored Pinkerton's first goal on an assist by Emily Hood.The Astros will play in the semifinals Wednesday.

Bella Keogh scored twice, giving her 37 goals on the year, but it wasn't enough as Timberlane bowed out of the Division 1 girls soccer tournament, losing to Bedford 6-2.

Whittier (13-5, 13-0 CAC) clinched the Commonwealth Conference Lower girls soccer title with a 3-0 win over Minuteman. Madison Gosse (2 goals) and Emma Terroux scored and Madison Dawkins (5 saves) earned the shutout. Monday the Wildcats will host Blackstone Valley in the State Vocational Large finals.

After battling to a 0-0 tie the first time they met, Andover got a second half goal from Michaela Buckley on an assist from Schwinn Clanton to nip rival North Andover, 1-0..

Methuen clinched the MVC Division 2 title for the first time in school history with a 4-0 win over Lowell. Kiera Fitzpatrick scored twice for the Rangers and Brooke Tardugno had three assists.

Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Timberlane scored all three of its goals in the second half to advance to the second round of the Div. 1 girls soccer tournament with a 3-1 victory over Windham. Bella Keogh and Alida Bates both had a goal and an assist for the Owls (14-3) and Norah Barry had her first career goal. Keogh's goal was her 35th of the year.
