Three different players contributed a goal and an assist as No. 5 Pinkerton soccer rolled over No. 12 Nashua North in the Division 1 North first round. Haley Hicks, Maggie Cohoon and Maura Kane each had a goal and a helper for the Astros, who travel to face No. 4 Manchester Central on Saturday at 2 p.m.

An impressively balanced effort paced Andover girls soccer to a 2-0 victory over Lowell. Junior Sophie Draper was a positive force offensively and defenders Carissa Reming and Caitlin Patten excelled in keeping the Red Raiders from getting to the Warrior net.

For the second consecutive year, Merrimack field hockey senior goalkeeper Kerri Bergquist was named the league’s best netminder, earning the Northeast-10 Conference Goalkeeper of the Year Award as the league announced its year-end awards. A first-team All-American and First-Team All-Conference member last fall, Bergquist played a pivotal role toward the team’s success as the Warriors won their second straight regular season title this fall.  For her efforts, Joining Bergquist  on the NE-10 All-Conference first team were North Andover's Candace Waldie, senior forward April Daugherty and Jessica Otis.

Megan Rauseo scored 47 seconds into the game to spark the unbeaten Central Catholic girls (12-0-2) to a 2-0 victory over North Andover.

Katie Whipple and Emily Crabtree provided a strong defensive front for North Andover in a 4-0 soccer shutout effort against Cambridge Rindge & Latin.

Georgetown's girls soccer team moved within one point of a tournament berth with a 3-0 victory over Triton. Kristin Hogan had a goal and an assist for the Royals (7-6-3).

Leah Chittick scored early for the North Andover girls soccer team (10-4-1) and the defense held tough the rest of the way in a 1-0 victory over rival Masconomet. Carrie Manteiga and freshman Tess Dunham played well for the Knights.

 The Northern Essex volleyball team fell to new Hampshire Tech 3-1. Jessica Goulet had six kills, two blocks and 10 servicr aces for the Knights. Alicia Allan added six kills and four blocks.

Courtney Walsh scored three goals and assisted on anoher as Central Catholic girls soccer clinched the MVC Division 1 crown with a 5-0 win over Lowell.

Molly Hoopes netted her first ever varsity goal on Haverhill's 11th corner kick of the contest. Hoopes' goal tied the score 2-2 in the second half against Tewksbury and that's how it ended.

Alicia Ross scored three goals as Timberlane surged past Keene 4-1.

Sarah Bresette scored in the first three minutes and also assisted twice as Brooks trounced Phillips Academy 3-1 in girls soccer.

 "Huge win for us," Haverhill coach Fred Tarbox said after his team won 2-0 over Lowell yesterday. 

Marlayna Buco stopped seven shots while Basema Hussein and Abbby Nauffts each scored for Haverhill. 

Rockport scored on a first-half penalty kick and the tally stood up in a 1-0 soccer victory over Pentucket. Sam Bomba had six saves to help keep the Sachems in the contest.

Behind two goals by Alli Wiggins and Courtney Walsh, the unbeaten Central Catholic girls soccer team whipped Billerica 6-1.
