Ryan Gomez struck out 14 and allowed just five hits in a compete game, and had a hit and scored two runs from the No. 9 spot in the order as Salem beat Spaulding 8-3 on Friday. Derek Boodoo added two RBIs for the winners.

Maddie Frank won first singles (8-1), Amelia Coyle took second singles (8-1) and they combined to win No. 1 doubles (8-3) as Pinkerton topped Salem 7-2.

Jason Ciarcia drove in three runs and Ryan Pacy chipped in with two RBIs as Salem rocked Manchester Memorial 10-5 on Monday. 

Salem volleyball opened the season sweeping Pinkerton. Tyler Valerio had 19 assists and Noah Mustapha chipped in with nine service points and five aces.
