Jaguars still unbeaten


The beat goes on for the Windham volleyball team. The Jaguars improved to 17-0 with a 3-1 quarterfinal victory over Hollis-Brookline as Jeff Draper had 12 kills and Kyle Gschwend had 35 assists. They'll be at Winnacunnet at 5 p.m. Thursday in the semifinals.

Junior Eric George scored seven goals as Timberlane ousted previously unbeaten Hollis-Brookline, 14-9,  in Division 2 boys lacrosse quarterfinal action. Sophomore goalie Brady Marston had 19 saves, sophomore attackman Braidon Bowman added 3 goals and an assist and junior midfielder Ethan Gerry tallied 2 goals and 2 assists.

Pelham wins OT thriller

Pelham won a thriller over Hollis/Brookline in OT 60-59 to advance to the Division 2 semifinals.  Tallie Carney, a 5-foot-2 senior, buried a deep 3-pointer to tie it up at 53 with about 10 seconds left in regulation. Megan Molettieri put the icing on the cake with a clutch 3 pointer in the extra frame.  Fab frosh Jasmine Becotte (15) and Jordyn Galgay (10) were the high scorers while Carney added nine points, all from deep. Senior Maddy Allard (6) and freshman Sophia Joncas (6) also played key roles.  In the regular season on Feb. 5, the Pythons, who are now 14-2, beat H-B 56-40. Pelham travels to Bedford High for the semifinals Thursday night. They will play 15-2 Bishop Brady. The two teams didn't play in the regular season.

Junior Erik Kappler had an impressive 9-5 victory over 2-time Division 2 state champ Troy Moscatelli to highlight the Owls' 62-0 shutout of Hollis-Brookline. Sophomores John Fabrizio and Malikai Colon saw their first action of the year and recorded pins for the Owls.
