Methuen falls in OT thriller

Methuen boys hockey scored twice late to come from behind and force overtime against Amesbury, but the Indians won the game in the extra session to hand the Rangers a tough 7-6 defeat. Methuen got two goals each from Zach Anderson (the first of his career) and Noah Kneeland plus goals from Owen Kneeland and Jack Allard. Noah Page made 32 saves and Amesbury's Thatcher Kezer scored the OT winner.

Darren Ackerman scored two goals on his way to tourney MVP honors as Haverhill beat Amesbury 5-2 in the championship game of the Hillie Christmas Tournament. Justin Torosian added a goal and an assist and Cal Pruett made 30 saves for the winners.

Keliher carries Amesbury late

Cam Keliher scored a game-high 28 points to lead Amesbury to a 60-53 win over Georgetown Wednesday night.

The Royals (4-1) were leading 53-51 with around three minutes before senior tri-captain and stout defender Grant Lyon, who had a team-high 19 points at the time, fouled out. After that, Keliher scored the game's final nine points to lead the Indians (2-1) to their seconds straight win.

Relentless Rubio

 

Pentucket's Emily Rubio won the 400 hursles and the high jump ans was second in the long jump to pace her team to second place in the CAL Open. Kinneal Dickens jumped a school record 35-3 1/2 for first in the triple jump. Reese Gallant won the 100 and was on the winning 4x100 and Sabrina Campbell on the 400, was on the winning 4x100 and was second in the high jump.

Rubio MVP

Emily Rubio was named Athlete of the Meet as she led Pentucket to a second-place at the CAL Meet. Rubio won the long jump and took a third in the high jump. She teamed with Sabrina Campbell, Sage Smith and Syeira Campbell to win the 4x200 in a meet record 1:47.65. Other Sachem winners were Madi Krohto in the high jump and Syeira Campbell in the 300.
